Electrical Engineer Entry Level - Gaithersburg, MD

Qualifications

The candidate will be providing medium voltage electrical engineering design services for facilities, industrial plants, water and wastewater facilities, and airports. The candidate will work with the President, Chief Engineer, and Senior Engineers who will provide guidance and supervision. The candidate will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in projects with other design engineers, sub-consultants and clients.

Responsibilities

• You will work with a team of engineers and designers to design, modify, and analyze new and existing medium voltage electrical systems. Projects will involve electric power distribution and standby power generation.
• You will be challenged to investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues.
• You will be the project lead responsible for ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
• You will prepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting and protective relay settings. You will also prepare documentation for design input for drawing production.
• You will perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation.
• Position requires occasional site visits and is not a remote work position.
• Additionally, you will have Construction Management duties including shop drawing review, inspections, as-built reviews and manual reviews.

Must Have

• A BSEE from an ABET accredited university, Masters degree is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The candidate should be a self-starter who is willing to learn and ready to work.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship or other immigration assistance.
