Electrical Inspector

Qualifications

For projects in Mid-Atlantic (Richmond to Philadelphia), the Electrical Inspector is responsible for field inspections of an electrical project related to inspection of low voltage (less than 480 volts) and medium voltage (up to 33kV) electrical facilities. This person will collaborate and interact with firm’s engineers, contractor, and all other team members and sub-contractors in all aspects of the project.

• Should be a self-starter and be able to hit the ground running.

• 10+ years of relevant electrical project experience (office and/or field experience, or a combination of both).

• Experienced in low and medium voltage and electrical facilities.

• Have excellent communication and time management skills.

• OSHA 10-hour training certification

• Certified Construction Quality Manager for Contractors (CQM-C) preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software

• Experience working with federal Project Management Systems

• Requires individual with good judgment, discipline, dependability, and responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for field inspection of low and medium voltage electrical facilities including underground ductbanks, manholes, switchboards, panelboards, substations, and security systems.
• Prepare a list of deficiencies found during field inspection.
• Maintain and use company tracking logs for RFIs and COs during inspection.
• Analyze deficiencies in relation to code violations and conformance with Plans, Specifications, General Conditions and Contracts.
• Provide recommendations for corrections of deficiencies.
• Prepare punch list of violations and non-conformance items for project closeout documentation. Prepare project reports for management, client or others.
• Travel to jobsites as needed to attend construction meetings, oversee deliveries and review jobsite issues.
• Perform Witness Testing as needed based on testing procedures described in the specifications.
• Perform field surveys of electrical facilities and prepares a single line diagram.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.

Must Have

• Master Electrician, Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Equivalent Experience preferred.•
• Must be able to read construction drawings (all disciplines)
• Can understand and interpret Specifications.
• Have a working knowledge of electrical codes, regulations and testing procedures.
