Electrical Project Engineer


Qualifications

Electrical Project Engineer: Design low and medium power distribution systems for facilities, utilities, substations, switchgear, motor control centers, switchboards, transformers, generators, panelboards, variable frequency drives, batteries and instrument transformers; perform field investigations, condition assessment and code deficiencies; create one line diagrams, fuse coordination and circuit breaker sizing, relay settings, power & control schematics, site plans, elevations, NEMA enclosures, underground electrical distribution system and remote monitoring system design; estimate construction cost; design and check electrical engineering calculations for AC/DC load, voltage drop, cable sizing, conduit fill, motor starters, fault analysis, lighting, manhole/handhole sizing, ductbank size/routing and junction/pull box sizing; engage in project coordination during design and construction; review shop drawings, engineering and material change orders, Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manual, RFI (Request for Information), factory witness testing, site inspection and As-Built drawings.


Responsibilities

  • Requires experience with Visual Lighting, Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation and ASPEN One Liner; and NEC (National Electrical Code), NETA (International Electrical Testing Association), NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association), and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) standards.

  • Requires MS in electrical engineering plus one year’s experience as an electrical project engineer or electrical engineer
