Electrical Engineer for Protection & Control - Gaithersburg, MD
Electrical Engineer (Protection & Control: Design and review Protection & Control (“P&C”) engineering packages including: Logic schemes, functional diagrams, one-line/three-line diagrams, elementary/schematic diagrams, relay I/O connection maps, wiring & connection diagrams, conduit & wire schedules, cable layout & plans, panel/rack/cabinet layout, bills of material (BOM), schedule of equipment (SOE) and control house layout for substations, power plants and facilities; develop, review, configure, deploy and document protective relay settings; develop power system protection schemes for circuit breaker failure/transformer differential/bus differential/ line differential protection; generate and review project/construction schedules; develop and review reports for ground grid design, lightning protection systems, yard lighting design, transformer sizing, transmission line impedance parameters and Current Transformer (CT) performance; design and check electrical engineering calculations; design emergency power systems schemes using backup service generators and service entry metering units; and design block diagrams and detailed wiring diagrams for substation clock system (IRIG-B), SCADARTU systems, and fiber-optic tele-protection. Requires experience with SEL AcSELerator, GE EnerVista, Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, ASPEN One Liner, ETAP and SKM PowerTools.
